Dr. Alan Marx
Dr. Marx has been involved in dentistry since adolescence. His father was noted dental ceramist in New York City and Dr. Marx always worked in his laboratory.
He grew up in a lower middle class neighborhood in New York City. He was the first in the family to attend college. SUNY Buffalo was kind enough to finance his education. Dr. Marx was a psychology major and received a B.A. in 1971.
Dental school was next and he graduated in the top 10% of his class at Howard, receiving numerous honors.
He then attended Johns Hopkins Hospital from 1975-1976 for post doctorate training, focusing on surgery, general anesthesia, sedation and complicated restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Marx has been in dental practice in the downtown business district since 1976.
Dr. Marx has been general chairman of the conference for dentistry on the local and national levels. He has been president of the DC Dental Society and has been on various councils of the ADA in Chicago.
In other words he is respected by patients and colleagues alike.
